You may call Mechanical Poet an extraordinary and extremely original rock band but these guys go much further. They are goddamn unique and bizarre and that’s a pure truth. Only a few bands can mix tons of genres together and have their own recognizable sound at the same time. MechPoet is one of them. This band never tried to become a part of any modern trend and always made everything on its own. They were born in cold and conservative Russia against all rules. It was hard to imagine the most unsuitable place for their music...but the Poets survived and proved their right to life.
Their genre is complex, strange and quirky. You can call it punk, heavy rock, alternative, progressive, hardcore, gothic or symphony but in fact it has it all and even more.
Their surreal attitude based on dark comics, noir cinema and grim humor admires and attracts fans from all music scenes. They don’t simply play music and sing songs. They create amazing stories that take a listener to an unbelievable journey through pages of dark fantasies. They make movies and print the screenshots on the pages of album artworks. And they create their own world, which opens the gate to anyone on every live show.
New MechPoet’s story was called "Who Did It to Michelle Waters?" and became some kind of a sequel to their previous masterwork "Creepy Tales for Freaky Children". Three sad songs about Michelle Waters turned to a full-length album taglined "Music From and Inspired by the Original Sad Story" with a bonus 10-track bonus CD "Original Score" consisting of orchestral music. Once again music, lyrics and album artworks are parts of same conception. Dramatic interludes and elegant orchestrations are gracefully entwined with electronic timbres and rock instruments. Voice of the band’s frontman Jerry Lenin can be gentle and rough, romantic or aggressive, full of irony and truly sensual. Along with specific riffs and sample arrangements by Lex Plotnikoff supported by murderous groves of drummer Vladimir Ermakoff and session bass player Daniel Zacharenkov the band makes another perfect album with a huge mystery behind it. терь по руски: Очень хорошая група...интересная музыка...великолепные музыканты....неопределённый стиль(ребята играют музыку которая им по душе)...вообще мнения расходятся:1.Прогресив-метал.2.Альт-метал.3.Эмо-рок.4.поп-кор.
